Privacy policy
Cinda Clothing respects your privacy.
Any personal information you provide to us — including your name, address, telephone number and email address — will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of Cinda Clothing.
At Cinda we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our customers by complying with the General Data Protection Regulation. We want our customers to be reassured of their safety when shopping with us, and we'd like you to understand how we use your data to offer a better, more personalised service. We stand by the following:
- We protect your data.
- We will never sell your data to anyone.
- We will only use your data to improve your experience.
- You can opt out of our marketing emails at any time — although we rarely send any.
- We will not keep your data for longer than we need it.
We strive to keep your data secure and protected. Although no company can guarantee 100% security, we do our utmost to be as secure as we possibly can. Below is further detail on how we process your data. If you have any queries or are unsure of anything, please contact us using the details in the "Contacting us" section.
What information is being collected, and why?
When placing an order with us we collect and store the following details: full name, address (shipping name and address if different from billing), phone number, and email address.
Please note: we do not store any credit card or payment information. Your payment information is stored in the system of the payment method you checked out with. Our system simply stores the payment method selected and a unique transaction ID so that we can locate the payment in future.
Name, address & contact details
- To deliver your order (contract — to fulfil our contract with you)
- To keep you updated on the status of your order (legitimate interest)
- To prevent fraud and provide evidence if it occurs (legal obligation)
Contact history
Kept to provide customer service and fulfil our contract with you.
Purchase history
Kept to process returns and exchanges, and so our staff are well informed when discussing orders with customers.
Device information
This includes things like your browser, operating system, screen resolution, IP address, and any preferences you've selected when previously visiting our site. It is used to help detect and investigate fraud or security issues, detect bugs and errors, remember your preferences (such as currency or sort order), and personalise the products we show you — for example previously browsed items or abandoned cart reminders.
Competition entries
Kept to contact winners and, where you've opted in, to let you know about future competitions. Entry data is deleted once a competition has ended, in line with our retention policy.
Marketing information
If you've opted in to our mailing list, we store your name, email address, and data about your interactions with our emails, to help us improve and personalise your experience.
You can refuse to give us your personal information, however you will not be able to check out on our website. You can also disable cookies in your browser, but please be careful not to disable the essential cookies that allow you to purchase items — see our cookie policy below.
Who do we share your information with, and why?
To operate our business and provide you with the best service, we share data with certain categories of company:
- Shipping couriers, to get orders to you
- Payment providers, to collect payment and prevent fraud
- Web hosts, who keep our site online and reliable
- Our cloud-based warehouse management platform
- Our cloud-based customer service platform — we may store your name and email address there once we've been in contact with you through it
- Our review platform, which emails you after a purchase so you can leave an unbiased review
- Email marketing software, if you've opted in
Before sharing information with any company we carry out due diligence to check that your information will be processed in line with our policies and with the General Data Protection Regulation. We do not partner with businesses that process data insecurely, and we do not keep records of your card or payment details — all financial transactions are processed directly by our payment providers' secure, regulated systems.
We also provide aggregated, anonymised data to marketing and analytics companies, which cannot be used to identify you as an individual.
Under no circumstances does Cinda Clothing Ltd or any of its staff sell customers' personal data to any third party.
Countries outside the UK/EU
The personal data we collect from you may be transferred to, or stored by, a supplier outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) — for example a shipping courier, technology partner, or payment provider necessary to complete your transaction. Where we transfer your data to a company outside the UK/EEA, we take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure it is treated securely and in line with this policy.
How long do we keep your information?
We have a retention policy for each category of data, based on its type, its use, and any legal requirement to keep it for a specific period. We will not keep your data without purpose or legal basis for doing so — for example, we may have to keep data to support a legal claim, or we may remove it sooner if you exercise your right to be forgotten. For marketing emails, contacts with no interaction for a set period are automatically removed from our list and may need to opt back in.
Cookies
We use cookies when you visit our site. A cookie is a small file stored on your device or in your browser. At Cinda we use cookies to let you add and remove items from your cart, check out, see recently viewed products, and more. These cookies do not store sensitive information such as card details or date of birth.
Our cookies fall into three categories:
- Essential cookies — needed for core site functionality such as checkout and the cart. Blocking these may prevent you from using the site.
- Analytical/marketing cookies — help us understand how customers use the site, so we can improve performance, usability and content, and identify bugs.
- Preference cookies — remember choices such as currency, location, or how many products you like to see per page.
You can block cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may restrict your access to parts of the site.
Links to other sites
Our site may link out to external websites and partners. Cinda Clothing Ltd cannot be held responsible for the content or security of those sites. We try to link only to sites we trust, but please read any external site's own privacy policy before sharing personal data with it.
